Connecting for Health
Connecting for Health in the UK (NHS) was responsible for building national standard subsets based on SNOMED CT®, that could be used in the UK. Both simple subsets but also more complex subsets which could be easily maintained were required, and NHS needed a tool for creating such subsets.
The Terminology Centre in Leeds used the HealthTerm® Subset Module to build national subsets of SNOMED CT®, which upon approval could be subscribed to by trusts, PCTs (primary care trusts) and EHR vendors. HealthTerm® was the cornerstone of the Terminology Centre’s work with creation, maintenance, validation and distribution of 400+ SNOMED CT® subsets.
